Principal’s Report: Fall semester ends in a few weeks. Fall sports are winding down and winter sports are in full swing. The fall play and band craft fair are this weekend. There are also some band and orchestra events in early December. About 70 people attended the Veterans Breakfast. The school experienced some minor flooding with the big rain last week but it’s being taken care of. The sophomores are taking their pre-ACT this Wednesday morning. The Wellness Lab will start up later this month. This includes coloring, thankful jars, yoga, walking, meditation, sports trivia and much more. Second semester schedules will be up by 12/26. There is a new program for enrolling in classes next year called School Links. The next two years of the school calendar are up. American Education Week is next week.
Staff Report
Helping Hands (Melissa Feig): The Heart of the Falcon Fund is used for those in need (i.e. field trips, senior class graduation fees, sporting equipment). The kids love the fresh fruit and healthy snacks. They even have some microwave meals and hygiene products. There is also a Holiday Assistance Program where people or companies can adopt a family for the holidays. Additional support is always needed. PSO presidents will post on their social media platforms to raise awareness.
Treasurer’s Report: The Snack Shack is making good money now that they are using Square as a monetary option. Please send any funds requests to Emily Werner.
Communication/Website: PSO photo will be up soon! Last month’s minutes will be posted shortly. 29 Instagram followers!
Events/Staff Support: Nothing scheduled until February. The committee is considering saving our budget until the end of year so the staff can all get something special. Teacher Appreciation week is in May. They would like to have a staff lunch or a truck or breakfast. They will open the spirit store in January and add some items to the Snack Shack. The PSO holiday gathering is Monday December 9th at 6:30.
Grants Discussion: Budget was $2000. The grants far exceed the budget. A last-minute anonymous donor agreed to cover the difference. All grants were approved.
Grade Level Rep’s Report
Senior Reps: Focus is on Senior Slam.
Junior Reps: They did well at the concessions. Will sell Pura Vida bracelets too (burgundy, black and white). Working on Savor the Flavors which is March 6th 4:30-6:30. An email will go out this week.
Sophomore Reps: Stonies Sausage sales were very successful. The gift-wrapping fundraiser was a success last year; would love to have more participation this year. More details to follow.
Freshman Reps: Concession Stands were a huge success. The Corner Butcher fundraiser will happen next year (closer to BBQ season). Flockings are trickling in.
