PSO Meeting Notes

November 11, 2025

 

Attendees:

 

Shana Thomas, Laura Roth-Haley, Dr. McCown, Jodi Carlson, Stacie Dixon, Emily Werner, Lara Lockey, Jill Elder, Erica Hallsten, Laurie Phillips, Tiffani Larkin, Keisha Adams, Cara Gill, Joanie Vorhees, Barb Stanek, Jen Guntli-Naslund, Lindsay Pearson, Megan Stratton

 

The meeting began at 6:32 pm.

 

Minutes from the previous meeting were unanimously approved.

 

President’s Report:

·       Want to prioritize approving the teacher grants.

 

Principal’s Report:

●        Had annual Veteran’s Day celebration. The turnout was great and they received really good feedback.

●        Hero’s Care Drive resulted in a lot of donations.

●        Finishing up fall season (congrats to the men’s soccer team, Bella and the swim team!).

●        Fall play and art show are this weekend.

●        Next week is teacher/staff appreciation week.

●        Assessment week is the week after Thanksgiving week. Each subject has a different way of assessing.

●        Next year course enrollment starts before winter break – courses will be entered end of January.

●        Curriculum night has been moved to January 20th.

 

Staff Report

 

Treasurer’s Report:

·       Lots going in and out as usual.

·       PSO Cares funds were sent to a teacher for fruit purchases.

·       Class budgets are up to date.

·       Budget was approved.

 

Communication/Website:

●      None

 

Events/Staff Support:

●      Pretty quiet right now.

●      Helping out where they can.

●      May do teacher treats later this month.

 

Grade Level Rep’s Report

 

Senior Reps: First slam meeting went well and was well attended. Most chair positions have been filled. Next meeting is Nov. 18th 6:30. Shirts and decals will be marketed around Thanksgiving. There will be one more gas card raffle before spring break.

 

Junior Reps: Had first Savor the Flavors meeting. Some committee heads have been filled. Made almost $1000 on Stonies.

 

Sophomore Reps: Gift card raffle will close before Thanksgiving. Considering doing an electronic recycling event (i.e. computers and TVs).

 

Freshman Reps: T shirts are finished, just need to figure out how to distribute them (maybe at lunchtime?). Holiday hometown announcement went out.

 

Old Business:

●      11/21 confirmed for Forbidden Foods (may change if there is a soccer game).  Thursday, 12/18 will be second date for the semester.

 

New Business:

●        December will be our holiday gathering offsite. Date TBD.

●        17 teacher grants. Budget has been increased for this year. Dr. McCown and committee will address the larger budget item separately as it may be funded by another district budget or could come out of another budget (tabled for now). The remaining grants have been approved.

●        Spirit wear – will just offer shipping this time. May do beanie hats, slides, full zip jackets and sweatpants sets or a different type of top.

 

The meeting adjourned at 7:21pm.  Motion was unanimously approved.
