President’s Report: There will be a few President’s Forum attendees.

Principal’s Report:

●        Good, strong start to the school year.

●        New phone policy hasn’t been an issue. The kids have been compliant with the new rules.

●        Now have a designated arrival time to ensure there is adequate supervision before school hours.

●        Big push for regular school attendance. Setting the expectation that they really need to attend every class unless there is an illness or doctor’s appointment.

●        Building Community in the classroom is a big focus this year. 026 in 2026!

●        The literacy initiative is a national trend. The goal is to increase the volume kids are reading (always a book in hand). Different strategies and content areas are being provided to teachers as resources.

●        Next week is homecoming week. Spirit competion, lunch games, Powder Puff, assembly, parade, game, dance.

●        Starting conversations about post-high school planning. Also reinforcing homecoming “pranks” and how to minimize those.

●        Monday after homecoming is the ring ceremony – September 22nd.

●        Practice ACT starting soon. Pre-ACT for sophomores on the 25th. Practice ACT on 26th for juniors (online version) including how to read their results and areas of focus.

●        PT conferences will be late Sept and early Oct.

●        Prop S Community meeting Oct. 7th. Safety and staffing are the focus.

Staff Report

Treasurer’s Report: Concession income doesn’t look good but it’s just because we buy everything in the beginning of the year. We will make that back. All the other numbers look good and we are on track and in a good position to give different areas a little more money. The 25-26 budget has been approved by the committee.

Communication/Website: none.

Events/Staff Support: Back to school treats were put in the teachers lounge during the first few days of the school. First staff appreciation week is next week for IT and custodians.

Grade Level Rep’s Report

Senior Reps: Chalk their spot went well, even with the rain. Concessions have been crazy busy and most volunteer spots have been filled. There will be two raffles – grocery gift cards (can choose which store) and gas card. T shirt fundraiser in December, Senior Slam - 10/14 is the first parent meeting. Vendors booked, chairs in place.

Junior Reps: Concessions on Friday went well. Savor the Flavor planning going on (March 5th).

Sophomore Reps: Golf raffle and freshman signs made a great profit.

Freshman Reps: Not present. May do a holiday home tour. Per Emily – freshman class shirts fundraiser as well.

Committee Reports

Concession and Snack Shack Committee – Megan Stratton - concessions are going well. Put together a video on how to set up the stands. Shack is going well, getting good volunteers.

Old Business: none

New Business:

●        Prop S – Dr. Cain or a representative will be joining our October meeting to discuss Pop S. All committees are being asked to donate to the campaign. Motion approved to donate $500.

●        Forbidden Food Days – would like to do at least 2. Considering dates in November for the first one; tentatively 11/21.

●        Wear summit shirts to the next meeting for pictures.

●        Will come to the next meeting with an idea on what to spend the surplus on.

The meeting adjourned at 7:31.
