District ACT for Juniors

The Rockwood District FREE ACT for Juniors (Class of 2027) will be offered on April 7, 2026

*Students are already registered to take the exam, no action is required by students  or parents to register for the District ACT*

Applying for testing accommodations for the District ACT: Parents of students who have an IEP or 504 plan or receive ELL services will be contacted by their child's case manager in November/December to determine if applying for accommodations on the ACT is appropriate. ACT will only approve accommodations that  reflect the same accommodations the student is using at school on a regular basis (for at least four months). Please contact Ms. Jennifer Kottmann, RSHS Testing Coordinator or your child's case manager for more information.

 

TEST DAY INFORMATION (testing details and reminders will be shared via email in March/April):

  • Check-in begins at 8:10 a.m. in the Upper Gym

    • English (35 minutes, 50 questions)

    • Math (50 minutes, 45 questions)

    • Reading (40 minutes, 36 questions)

    • Science (40 minutes, 40 questions)

Students should bring:

  • photo ID

  • nonmechanical #2 pencils, sharpened, with erasers

  • an approved calculator  ACT Calculator Policy (Extra calculators are available to borrow on test day, but not all are graphing calculators. Students may ask their math teacher to check out a math calculator on test day)

  • dressing in layers for personal comfort is suggested

  • a snack and drink (for the break only, outside the test room)

  • Phones, smart watches and electronics are not permitted to be used, even during the break

  • If students bring backpacks they must be left along the wall on the sides of the room and may not be accessed during the exam 

  • After testing, all students will eat lunch and return to afternoon classes

**Students approved by ACT to test with accommodations will receive an additional email prior to test day with room, timing, and other testing arrangements**

 

PRIOR TO TEST DAY - MyACT Online Account:

Juniors will receive an email prior to test day that will include the following important information on how to create a MyACT account and complete Non-Test personal information (or link the district ACT score to their existing MyACT account)

  • Video - MyACT Account Setup

  • a unique code will be provided to each student in the email

  • students will receive a hard copy of the same instructions/code on test day to take home 

  • Deadline to complete the MyACT account setup is April 9th 

  • WHY DO THIS? - MyACT account is required to view scores online (scores are not mailed home or distributed at school). It also allows you to link past and future ACTs to one account.
