District ACT for Juniors

Class of 2027: District ACT Information for Students and Parents

The ACT is the nation’s most widely accepted college entrance exam. Students take the ACT to  assess college readiness, guide course placement, and qualify for scholarships. Rockwood provides all juniors the opportunity to take the ACT during the school day. The test is FREE for all juniors and the school automatically registers all students.

Test Day Information:

  • Date: Tuesday, April 7, 2026
  • Time: 8:21 a.m. - 12:03 p.m. (Lunch: 12:03-12:30 p.m.)
  • Location: RSHS Upper Gym

Accommodations:
Students with ACT-approved accommodations will receive details in a separate email on 3/31 with alternate arrangements. 

Important for Students:

  • Create a MyACT Account
    To access scores, students must create a MyACT account by April 8, using the instructions and a personalized code provided to them (hard copy) in homeroom on March 25. Students with existing MyACT accounts should link their scores to their current account.

What to Bring:

  • Photo ID (driver’s license, passport, school ID, etc.)
  • #2 pencils (sharpened)
  • ACT-approved calculator (students may bring their own, borrow a graphing calculator from their current math teacher, or borrow a scientific calculator in the test room)
  • Snack and drink (optional)
  • Small bag or purse is permitted (backpacks must be stored away from seats)
  • Dressing in layers for comfort and warmth is strongly encouraged

Prohibited Items:

  • No cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, or any electronic devices.
  • All devices must be powered off and stored away during the test. Violating this will result in dismissal and score voiding.

About the Test:

  • Delivery: Paper-based (no Chromebook needed)
  • Format: “Enhanced” ACT (updated 2025) with the Science test
  • Sections:
    • English: 35 minutes, 50 questions
    • Math: 50 minutes, 45 questions
    • Reading: 40 minutes, 36 questions
    • Science: 40 minutes, 40 questions

Score Access:

  • Scores will be available within 2-8 weeks.
  • Students will access scores through their MyACT account.
  • No paper score reports will be mailed home or distributed at school. If scores are not received by mid-June, contact ACT student services.

  • Register and pay online at my.act.org.
  • Students receiving free/reduced meals may be eligible for two fee waivers. To request a waiver, email tuccielizabeth@rsdmo.org or visit the RSHS Counseling Office.
