PSAT

PLAN FOR COLLEGE WITH THE PSAT/NMSQT TEST


JUNIORS: This is your only opportunity to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Programs. 


The PSAT is open to all 11th & 10th graders who opt to test. It is a challenging academic exam, emphasizing English and Math. Less than the top 2% of all testers nationally qualify as National Merit Finalists. 


Registration for the PSAT is available online only August 19 - September 2, 2024.

NO LATE REGISTRATIONS MAY BE ACCEPTED.
The cost for the test is $25 which can be paid for with a credit or debit card online.

Testing Accommodations for the PSAT: an IEP, 504 plan, or other disability does not automatically guarantee testing accommodations for the PSAT. Approval for testing accommodations must be granted by College Board. Please allow up to 7 weeks for approval. If you wish to request accommodations for testing, email kottmannjennifer@rsdmo.org and/or your child's case manager. 

DIGITAL READINESS: The PSAT Exam is offered as a digital exam and must be taken on a RSD Chromebook. A MANDATORY digital readiness session will be held on September 25th during Ac Lab to prepare students to access the test on exam day.

Exam Day Information
Exam Date: Tuesday, October 8, 2024 - RSHS Upper Gym
Check-in 8:18-8:28 a.m.

  • Students will take the PSAT on their Rockwood Chromebook
  • Bring pencils (scratch paper will be provided) and an approved calculator  PSAT Calculator Policy 
  • Dressing in layers for personal comfort is strongly encouraged
  • Students may bring a snack & drink for the break only, outside the test room
  • No personal electronics allowed, even during breaks. Backpacks must be left at the side of the room until dismissal.

HOW DO STUDENTS GET PSAT SCORES?

    • Scores are available online, usually in December. Students will receive an email with information about accessing their scores by creating or logging in to their College Board online account. 
    • Paper score reports and test booklets are available in January (distribution method TBD)
    • Nothing is mailed home by College Board or RSHS
    • Students who qualify for National Merit Semi-Finalist or other awards will be notified in fall of 12th grade, usually in September
